The trip to D.C. was quite exciting. We went to many
different places in Washington D.C. We traveled by buses in groups. There
were 4 buses, one group on each bus. The schedule was kind of rigorous but I
managed to get through the trip without getting that tired. We went to the
Lincoln Memorial, Ford’s Theater, Iwo Jima Memorial, The Mall, Bowling, Air
and Space Museum, WWII Memorial, The White House, Holocaust Museum, and many
other places around D.C. I was a little nervous before get-ting on the bus to
go to the airport and get on a flight with 170 kids. Once I got on the bus,
I wasn’t nervous anymore because I thought about the pilots being so
professional and if we did die I would die with all of my friends. During
the trip I felt tired because of the schedule being so tight, getting up at
6 a.m. every morning and going to bed at about one a.m.
During the monuments it was a
little tedious worrying about the Study Guide answers and the deadline of
the teachers checking the guide being on Thursday at seven o’ clock p.m. My
friends and I got together during each monument of memorial to do the
questions together as we walked through the exhibit. It went a lot faster
when we all did them together instead of doing the questions individually.
In the morning when we got up, we got into pairs for the day, so we stuck
together the whole day so we wouldn’t get lost from the big group. We would
also be able to remind ourselves of what time we had to be back at the
certain location they would specify before we went our separate ways.
After the trip I wasn’t that
excited to go back home. I started to think of school and that I had a
project due soon. Then, when we got on the bus to go to the airport I
started to get nervous again. When we got to the airport, Mr. Cooperman was
getting a little static because we were going to be late for our flight and
that would set everything back after the flight. We all got on a bus and it
took us to our airplane. We got on the airplane and flew home. That was the
best school trip I had ever been on.
